So I have had this site up for almost a year, I think ... And I have not done much in the way of blogging. That changes now. Woot, woot! So in case you did not know this about me, I love the start of a new year. When I was in middle school I had this big bulletin board that I would take down every New Year's Eve and reminisce on everything that happened. Then as I got older, I became really into setting goals (mostly because I will take any excuse to make more lists!)
This year I have some pretty lofty goals, maybe I will do a blog post about that later. One thing that I did decide to start this year was a photography bucket list. I have a regular bucket list that I wrote up the summer after my senior year of high school. It has been nice to see everything that I have been able to accomplish in the past five years. I thought that would be a good way to start off my 6th year of business (time really does fly).
Over that past five years I have been able to photograph tons of people all over Indiana. I have witnessed engagements, newborns, and all kinds of special moments. I got to thinking and made a list of 20 things that I would still like to do, but have not had the opportunity to shoot. The super awesome part about this is that I am going to bribe you guys into helping me complete this list! If you (or anyone you know) can help me cross something off my photography bucket list, you will get a special price on the session!
Shoot a session next to a big blooming magnolia tree. I have been obsessed with these trees since I moved to Indiana. I am actually thinking about planting one in my backyard, but I am too impatient to wait until then to cross this off the list haha.
A bride with a short wedding dress
New Year's Eve wedding
Daddy and Me session
Wedding ceremony in the woods (especially during the fall)
Outdoor reception, no tents
Senior or a couple during a big snow
50 year anniversary session
Wedding where the bride and groom help each other get ready
Wedding at the Lerner Theater (that's where I got married!)
A birth. I always thought that it was so strange that people booked photographers to shoot births haha. Then after going through that whole ordeal in April, I realized that there were so many moments that would have made beautiful photographs. Quick story on this one ... So I had to have a C section with Penny and when they laid her by my head, the nurse that was there asked my husband if he had his cellphone on him. She offered to take a picture of those first few seconds that we were all together. Of course I was ecstatic about this, but once we actually got back to our room and looked at the photo, it was all black. I was soooo upset, but it made me realize that I would like to shoot a birth and be able to capture those precious moments for someone else.
Surprise engagement (I've actually shot one of these before, but I want to do it again. It is amazing!)
Indoor engagement session
Shoot with a puppy
Girl with just a (cute) baggy sweater on
Model with bold makeup
Shoot an out of state wedding ( this is a baby step toward someday (hopefully) shooting destination weddings!)
Please contact me if you are interested in helping me cross something off of my bucket list!
I hope everyone has had a great start to 2017 🙂
